Abstract
We report the case of a 34 year old man, who presented with advanced medullary carcinoma of the thyroid gland. His initial presentation, with dysphagia, is unusual in this condition. Surgery is the treatment of choice, radiotherapy and chemotherapy being relatively ineffective. Our patient underwent pharyngo-laryngo-oesophagectomy which is rarely performed in these cases, as such extensive disease is not often amenable to surgery.Entities:
