Abstract
A case of bilateral ankylosis of the hip in a 3-year-old child due to heterotopic ossification of the iliopsoas following a long period of coma is presented. A review of the literature has failed to reveal a similar case with such extensive heterotopic ossification. The patient was treated successfully by surgical excision of the heterotopic bone which was extra-articular and extra-capsular and involved only the iliopsoas muscles.Entities:
