Abstract
Peripheral joint mobility of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthrosis and internal derangement patients (n = 25) and of a control group (n = 29) was measured according to a rigidly standardized protocol, in order to study the relationships between TMJ osteoarthrosis and internal derangement and generalized joint hypermobility. No significant differences in peripheral joint mobility between the two groups were found. Therefore, generalized joint hypermobility cannot be considered as a predisposing factor for TMJ osteoarthrosis.Entities:
