Abstract
Navalkar R. G. (University of Wisconsin, Madison), E. H. Wiegeshaus, and D. W. Smith. Relationship of mycoside content and colony morphology for group II and group III unclassfied mycobacteria. J. Bacteriol. 88:255-259. 1964.-The relationship between colony morphology and mycoside content previously reported for Mycobacterium kansasii and M. fortuitum does not extend to group II and group III unclassified mycobacteria. Mycoside distribution studies permit a division of group II cultures into three subgroups: mycoside D group, mycoside Cm group, and a group containing no mycoside. The colony form of group II and group III isolates is more definitive on oleic acid-albumin-agar than on Corn Meal Agar. Attention is called to the differences in colony form and mycoside content for subcultures of M. marianum obtained from two sources.Entities:
