Abstract
Certain simple derivatives of ethyleneimine cause an intense and prolonged diuresis in nonhydrated rats. Sodium, potassium and chloride excretion is unaffected by these compounds. Ethyleneimine also causes a diuresis in the rat, but the polyfunctional compound thiotepa is ineffective. The relationship between structure and activity of a number of compounds is discussed with particular reference to the possibility that the diuresis is due to the in vivo liberation of ethyleneimine.Entities:
