USE OF X-RAYS IN THE DETECTION OF CALCIUM IN BIOLOGICAL TISSUES AT MICROLEVEL.

F BOHATIRCHUK.

Abstract

By using x-rays at a microlevel (that is, at magnifications of 35 x and more) the smallest quantities of calcium in tissues can be visualized. The method of stain historadiography recommended permits the combined study of histological specimens and their radiographs. The study of specimens in series not only serves to exclude artefacts but also helps to identify the calcium-containing microstructures.
