INFECTION OF ASCITIC FLUID IN PATIENTS WITH HEPATIC CIRRHOSIS.

D N KERR, D T PEARSON, A E READ.

Abstract

Infection of the ascitic fluid is a treatable complication which can easily escape diagnosis. The clinical features are recorded in this paper. The use of a special trocar and cannula may reduce the risk of infection after paracentesis.
