Abstract
Thrombolytic therapy holds great promise for becoming an important therapeutic adjunct in the treatment of acute vascular occlusions, but such therapy has not reached the stage for general clinical use. The optimum method of administering thrombolytic agents has not yet been determined, and the processes that bring about lysis of clots are incompletely understood. Current theories in this field are reviewed and the suggested modes of therapy and potential complications are discussed.Entities:
