Abstract
Cysteine-rich intestinal protein (CRIP) is a newly identified peptide that occurs primarily in the intestine and binds zinc in the mucosa during absorption. High dietary zinc does not affect CRIP concentration, but it greatly increases metallothionein, which may compete with CRIP to decrease zinc absorption.Entities:
