Abstract
The results of 46 attempted renal biopsies on 44 patients in a general hospital are discussed. The diagnostic value of this procedure is the subject of controversy in the literature. While it may be considerable if carried out in specialist units, the results in this series suggest that renal biopsy is usually only confirmatory and that careful clinical and laboratory assessment provides a reasonable diagnosis in most cases.Entities:
