[Heavy metals in the mother-newborn infant biological system in the technology-related biogeochemical environment].

Abstract

High levels of the lead, cadmium and zinc content in the mother and newborn blood, placenta, meconium and breast milk in the zinc production metallurgical works area were shown. Intoxication of newborns may be caused by breast feeding with milk containing heavy metals.
