The application of the capillary-papain technique to the rapid matching of blood for transfusion.

B E GILBEY, J M LINDARS.

Abstract

An application of the capillary-papain technique to the rapid cross-matching of blood for transfusion is described. The test can be performed in 15 minutes and is simple to carry out and interpret. It is inferior to the indirect Coombs test in detecting antibodies belonging to blood groups other than the Rh system.
