Abstract
The mechanisms that regulate inflammatory responses, and their dysfunction in chronic inflammatory diseases, are poorly understood. Lipocortin 1 is a potential mediator of the anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoid hormones. Following the discovery of putative receptors on phagocytes for lipocortin 1, Nick Goulding and Paul Guyre here offer one explanation for the self-limitation of inflammation and the impairment of the mechanism in chronic inflammatory disease.Entities:
