Abstract
It now appears probable that this syndrome and postinfarction syndrome result from an exaggerated immune response to cardiac damage. Both are self-limited, except following coronary artery bypass surgery, in which the incidence of graft occlusion may be high. Early recognition is vital so that treatment, with corticosteroids and aspirin, can prevent morbidity, anxiety, and inappropriate therapy.Entities:
