Abstract
It has been demonstrated that concentrated sulfuric acid causes the polypeptide, poly-DL-serine (MW approximately 5000), to rearrange to the polyester, to the extent of 70 percent of the original number of amide bonds. The remaining hydroxyls of the serine residues become sulfonated.Entities:
