Preventive cardiology. What should the clinician be doing about it?

W B Kannel.

Candidates for a major cardiovascular event can be identified by ordinary office procedures and simple laboratory tests, and the degree of risk estimated. There are compelling reasons to believe that much is to be gained by lowering risk through preventive measures advocated for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
