Method for the selection of bacteria that synthesize uronic acid-containing polysaccharides.

A MARKOVITZ.

Abstract

Markovitz, Alvin (University of Chicago, Chicago). Method for the selection of bacteria that synthesize uronic acid-containing polysaccharides. J. Bacteriol. 82:436-441. 1961.-A method has been devised for selecting bacteria that synthesize uronic acid-containing polysaccharides from soil samples. The method depends on the addition of high concentrations of SO(4) (=) to a liquid enrichment medium.
