Framycetin sulphate (Soframycin) as a pre-operative bowel-sterilizing agent.

A G HORSBURGH.

Abstract

The author has investigated the bowel-sterilizing powers of framycetin sulphate, and has compared its potency with that of neomycin. He has found that the drug is well tolerated, and not toxic in doses which are sufficient to suppress faecal organisms satisfactorily.
