[Comparative study of the insulin-secreting effects of L (+) and of D (-) sodium lactate].

M M Loubatières-Mariani, A Loubatières, J P Blayac.

Abstract

Both sodium 6(+) and D(-) lactate stimulate insulin secretion from the isolated perfused rat pancreas; however the insulin secretory effect of the L(+) form is much superior to that of the D(-) form. Glucagon secretion is not modified by the two isomers.
