[Tonsillectomy and leukemia in adults (author's transl)].

Among 752 leukemic adult patients 99 were tonsillectomized and among 752 strictly selected healthy persons ("individual matched pairs") 182. This difference is significant and shows the same results as earlier examinations in leukemic children by Matzker and Klasen. Authors suggest further controls of these impressioning statisticts. New aspects of tonsillar pathophysiology and also indication for adenotonsillectomy are induced.
