Alcoholism; the chronological background leading to California's present program.

W R LIPSCOMB.

Abstract

An ancient problem is receiving modern attention in California. In this paper, the author briefly reviews the historical background that has made possible newer attitudes and study approaches to the problem of alcoholism. The chain of circumstances (and its welders) leading to California's broadly programmed attack upon alcoholism and its related complications is described.
