Abstract
The neurotoxic poison from the roe of Fugu, a globe fish living in the waters of Japan, was investigated with reference to its effect on the main oxidation-reduction systems, acetyl-cholinesterase and choline-acetylase in the brain of the guinea-pig.It was found that the poison inhibited the choline-acetylase activity, even in a concentration of 4.4x10(-7). Acetyl-cholinesterase and cytochrome-c-oxidase activities were also inhibited in concentration of 1.3x10(-5) and 0.8x10(-5) respectively.Entities:
