Abstract
The site and mode of action of cyclosporin A (CsA) have been subjects of study ever since CsA was discovered and demonstrated to be a selective suppressor of allograft rejection. In this article, Bernard Erlanger traces progress to date and presents evidence that the site of action is not cytoplasmic cyclophilin but a lymphocyte cell-surface receptor that might be related in structure to cyclophilin.Entities:
