Abstract
Research was carried out on 74 hemodialysis patients to determine the frequency of anti-HCV antibodies; this was done by means of the 1st and 2nd generation screening and control tests. The 1st generation tests showed 9 HCV-seropositive patients, while the 2nd generation tests demonstrated 15 HCV-seropositive patients. It seems evident that the 2nd generation tests are more sensitive than those of the 1st.Entities:
