Abstract
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection was first recognized in children in 1983 and has now assumed the proportions of a major public health challenge. This article briefly reviews, on the basis of the literature, the epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical and immunologic characteristics, and prognosis of HIV infection in children. The clinical oral manifestations in children are described on the basis of the literature and the personal observations of HIV-infected pediatric patients.Entities:
