Abstract
The paper discusses results of the assay of androgen receptors in the cytosol fraction of osteogenic sarcoma (primary tumor and metastases) in 17 dogs. In some cases, osteogenic sarcoma and its metastases revealed androgen receptors in a wide range of concentrations (15-340 fmol/mg protein). Metastatic tumors appeared to have the highest receptor levels. Possible role of sex steroid hormones, particularly, androgens in the pathogenesis of osteogenic sarcoma development as well as the use of antiandrogens for the treatment of the tumor are discussed.Entities:
