The use of asymmetric yaw in the correction of lateral facial defects in hemifacial microsomia deformities: a case report.

J J Moses1, H H Lo.

Abstract

Treatment of a patient who had hemifacial microsomia and the long-term follow-up are presented. In selected cases, incorporation of an asymmetric yaw in orthognathic surgery can compensate for some of the soft tissue deficiency and asymmetry and produce esthetic results. Early surgical intervention is important to the success of treatment.
