Abstract
This report presents a case of community-acquired pneumonia due to Chlamydia psittaci presenting with a lobar infiltrate and diagnosed by a newly developed ompA gene-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This gene encodes a specific C. psittaci major outer membrane protein. This kind of PCR could reduce antibiotic consumption and expedite outbreak management.Entities:
