Abstract
Parasitologic and histopathologic examinations were performed on a wild Japanese serow (Capricornis crispus) with severe dermatitis from Tochigi, Japan in February 1999. The serow was infested with a large number Chorioptes bovis. Marked parakeratotic hyperkeratosis was characteristic of the lesions induced by these mites.
