Abstract
Extracranial internal carotid artery aneurysm is rare. They usually appear as an enlarging pulsatile neck mass with associated tenderness and fever. The diagnosis is difficult and can lead to significant medical morbidity. Treatment of these lesions requires expert surgical management and necessitates an assiduous search for an underlying source. We report a case of a mycotic aneurysm of the extracranial carotid artery in an immunosuppressed patient successfully treated by wide excision and saphenous vein patch angioplasty.Entities:
