Abstract
Carotid intimal-medial thickening was observed in a 23-year-old woman with acute cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. The thickening disappeared after her recovery from the infection. As endothelial cells are common targets of CMV, this thickening suggests that CMV infection causes vascular lesions, even in otherwise healthy individuals.Entities:
