Abstract
Sonography has made a dramatic impact on the obstetric management of complicated twin pregnancies. This is based in part on the ability to use prenatal US to diagnose syndromes and complications of MC twinning. All twin pregnancies are at high risk for perinatal morbidity and mortality compared with singleton gestations, but when one of the described complications is recognized, the difficulties in management are compounded dramatically. Despite the relative rarity of some of the entities described, it is vitally important to be familiar with these problems and their sonographic evaluation and diagnosis.Mesh:
