[Effect of strabismus on the quality of life in adults].

Abstract

The aim of this paper was to prove by help of questionnaire the psychosocial problems in 26 adult patients operated for strabismus. We stated that the biggest difficulties of patients occurred by work and sport activities. The patients with diplopia also complained of difficulties with uncertain orientation, walking on steps and by locating the objects. The uncertainty by communication was also a great problem. The surgery fulfilled the expectations by 18 patients (69%), 8 patients (31%) were disappointed.
