Abstract
In this randomized trial, C-reactive protein increased during the first 5 days of an acute coronary syndrome in patients treated with placebo, but this phenomenon was not observed in those randomized to atorvastatin 80 mg/day. This suggests that short-term statin therapy inhibits inflammation in patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndromes.Entities:
