Abstract
An evolutionarily conserved machinery exists for engulfment of apoptotic cells from worm to mammals. New observations suggest that corpse clearance is tightly linked to apoptosis and that dying cells use both recruitment and eat-me signals for phagocyte attraction and recognition.Mesh:
