Abstract
The activity of NCX 972, a new molecule obtained by adding a nitric oxide (NO) moiety to metronidazole, was tested against six isolates of Entamoeba histolytica in xenic cultures. NCX 972 released NO into trophozoite cells and enhanced killing of amoebas in a dose- and time-dependent manner compared to metronidazole.Entities:
