Abstract
A 60-year-old male presented with a nontender irreducible mass in the right groin. Examination revealed swelling in the inguinal canal in the region of the deep inguinal ring. He underwent laparoscopic, extraperitoneal exploration of the spermatic cord, where a soft tissue tumor was identified and excised. Histological examination confirmed a nerve sheath tumor. Nerve sheath tumors are uncommon neoplasms of peripheral nerves, which theoretically can arise from any nerve fiber but have only been described in the spermatic cord in three reports in the literature. We are not aware of any reports describing their excision either laparoscopically or by the extraperitoneal route.Entities:
