Abstract
Maintaining the highest possible level of talented researchers relies critically on the ability to recruit, train and retain the best young students to the neurosciences. This article addresses the need for trainers to look beyond technical skills, on which research training conventionally concentrates, to some para-scientific skills that may help assure survival during the apparently perennial periods of scarce resources.Mesh:
