Abstract
Although hepatitis C virus infection has been documented in several extrahepatic diseases, the deposition of HCV RNA in glomerular structures has proved to be difficult to demonstrate. We report a patient with membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, type III circulating cryoglobulins and hepatitis C virus infection with detection of HCV RNA in serum, cryoprecipitate and renal tissue using specific RT-PCR technique. These data confirm that HCV could have a direct role in renal damage.Entities:
