Abstract
Immediate reocclusion after successful thrombolysis was angiographically examined in 29 consecutive stroke patients. The reocclusion, which was associated with a high-grade residual stenosis of initially perfused arteries, occurred in four patients. IV abciximab successfully dissolved the thrombus in all four patients. Rapid thrombotic reocclusion after successful thrombolysis is commonly observed in patients after an acute stroke. Administration of abciximab may lead to reperfusion of the reoccluded artery.Entities:
