Abstract
We present the case of a patient with an MR imaging study showing an ill-defined intra-axial mass in the right insula and frontal lobe. The mass showed high signal intensity on T2-weighted and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery images and an unusual proton MR spectroscopic imaging pattern characterized by the presence of high levels of myo-inositol/glycine, no significant elevation of choline, and mildly reduced N-acetylaspartate. The histopathologic diagnosis was of diffuse astrocytoma with oligodendroglial components (World Health Organization grade II).Entities:
