Continuing low incidence of Crohn's disease in Northwest Greece.

Abstract

AIM OF STUDY: The largest population-based study for inflammatory bowel disease in Northwest Greece.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective survey for the years 1982-1997.
RESULTS: Of 400 patients, 334 had ulcerative colitis, 43 Crohn's disease and 23 indeterminate colitis.
CONCLUSIONS: Crohn's disease still remains rare in Northwest Greece.
