Abstract
A case of hepatitis A in a food handler at a local secondary school prompted the institution of control measures including administration of human normal immunoglobulin (HNIG) to all pupils. This paper summarises the management of the incident and describes the use of HNIG to prevent secondary cases. Few adverse effects were reported and only one secondary case of hepatitis A occurred at the school.Entities:
