Intended plans for breastfeeding duration: a simple tool to predict breastfeeding outcome.

A M Vogel1.

Abstract

UNLABELLED: Prenatal intended duration of breastfeeding has been shown to be a powerful predictor of breastfeeding initiation and duration. This provides a tool to establish the risks for short duration of breastfeeding.
CONCLUSION: It is necessary to identify the factors that influence mothers' plans, and to find means to intervene effectively.
