Synthesis and spectral characterization of novel compounds derived from 1,10-phenanthroline, lead(II) and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate.

Maria S Atanassova1, Georgi D Dimitrov.

Abstract

On interacting 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) with tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (Bu4N*BF4) two novel compounds have been obtained. These are the 1:1 adduct (phen)*(Bu4N*BF4) and the complex Pb(phen)(Bu4N*BF4)3(NO3)2. The synthesized substances have been characterized by UV, IR and Raman spectroscopy as well as by 1H- and 19F-NMR spectroscopy.
