Contraction of myoepithelial cells in secreting submandibular glands of dogs.

N Emmelin, P Gjörstrup.

Abstract

In slowly secreting submandibular glands of dogs, a sympathetic effect on myoepithelial cells was demonstrated as an acceleration of the flow, followed by retardation, on short-lasting sympathetic stimulation, particularly after beta-adrenoceptor-blocking drugs.
