Injectable adrenaline for children.

.

Abstract

Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening, generalised or systemic acute hypersensitivity reaction and represents a medical emergency. Treatment with adrenaline is urgent, may be life-saving and is most quickly given by injection by the child or a carer. Here, we review the injectable adrenaline preparations available for children and consider for whom they should be prescribed.
