BPNI: 10 years of its work.

Arun Gupta1.

Abstract

On 3rd December 1991, Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI) was born to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. From the very beginning it has been BPNI's policy not to accept funds or sponsorships of any kind from the companies producing infant milk substitutes, feeding bottles and related equipment or infant foods and cereal foods or from those who have ever been found to violate the IMS Act or the International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes. Present and future activities of the BPNI are discussed.
