A new triterpenoid isolated from Lagerstronemia speciosa (L.) Pers.

Abstract

A new triterpenoid along with four known compounds were isolated from the leaves of Lagerstronemia speciosa (L.) PERS. (Lythraceae). On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the new compound was established as 3beta,23-dihydroxy-1-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid.
