Abstract
Superficial granulomatous pyoderma is a rare variant of pyoderma gangrenosum. The superficial ulceration and vegetative margins are clinically distinctive; the suppurative and granulomatous histology is characteristic, though not pathognomonic. The condition is said to be relatively benign and more responsive to treatment than classic pyoderma gangrenosum, though published evidence of this is not always convincing. We present a case of superficial granulomatous pyoderma that was unusually aggressive, but that underwent dramatic and lasting resolution after intravenous immunoglobulin therapy.Entities:
